| Description | Variable traffic signs are part of dynamic traffic management data governed by the EU ITS Directive and delegated regulations (RTTI/SRTI). Published information includes both static and dynamic traffic rules, such as speed limits, overtaking bans, weight, height, and length restrictions, one-way streets, and usage limitations for tunnels and bridges. The data also covers the location and identification of signs and the boundaries of restriction zones. All information must be machine-readable and distributed via the National Access Point (NAP) in DATEX II format, with time fields following ISO 8601 in UTC. Dynamic data is updated in real time to support traffic management, incident notifications, and intelligent traffic control solutions. |
